The beauty world, particularly the art of makeup has been a familiar topic to me for as long as I can remember, way before social media consumed our lives and contouring our faces became the epitome of every girls daily routine. Growing up in my mom’s salon, I was introduced to beauty and immediately became fascinated with the makeover process. Witnessing the culture of conversation inside those four walls and seeing the confidence women gained walking out the door was nothing short of captivating. I wanted to be a part of making someone feel better about themselves, but my dreams were crushed before I could even think twice about it. Coming from a culture where becoming a doctor, lawyer or pharmacist were the only three expectations of me, becoming a makeup artist or cosmetologist wasn’t even a matter to be discussed. I was told I had to go to school and that “beauty” was not a career. Well, being the obedient teenager I was, I did just that. I got my bachelors in English “Creative Writing” (which now helps me with my writing skills) and was on my way to applying for Law School. Long story short, due to some unfortunate (yet fortunate) circumstances I came to my senses and realized I HATED LAW, and I wanted to be a makeup artist instead. This time no one and nothing could stop me. Sure i got mocked for having a degree and pursuing a career in beauty, but I was too passionate about my art to let unimportant people sway me from my dreams.

Fast forwarding to today, I made the best decision by believing in myself and going against the norm. I would not change my career and the flexibility of my hours with anything, especially being a wife and a mother of two. Don’t let that fool you though! Nothing comes easy and every single day I put in hard work to further myself and improve my art. There is no other way. And there is no excuse if you want to be successful in whatever it is you may be doing.

With this website, I want to take you on my journey, and give you insight from my work to my life and everything else in between. Welcome to my page and I hope you find something here that inspires YOU!

With Love,

Angee
